Attorney Steven Caya of Nowlan & Mouat suited up in a bit different attire on Friday, June 19, than his normal jacket and tie. A Harley-Davidson enthusiast, Caya dressed in his favorite motorcycling gear for the South Central Wisconsin Janesville Harley Owners Group’s (HOG) fifteenth annual MDA Tub Run. The two-day event benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Wisconsin.

Caya, who purchased his first Harley-Davidson motorcycle last year, kicked off the weekend with the Poker Run on Friday. In an organized ride with dozens of other bikers, he made stops at various bars in the Janesville area, receiving a playing card at each in an effort to make the best poker hand. On Saturday, Caya participated in the Tub Run, a 35-40 mile ride around the area.
“I enjoy motorcycling, meeting new people and the thrill of riding in a large group,” says Caya. “Best of all, the proceeds go to a worthy charity.”

Combining his passion for motorcycles and law, Caya has written an informative brochure for motorcyclists called, “What Every Motorcyclist Needs to Know about Insurance.” The brochures were handed out over the weekend at the Nowlan & Mouat booth at Kutter Harley-Davidson/Buell in Janesville. Nowlan & Mouat is a corporate sponsor of the fifteenth annual HOG MDA Tub Run

In addition, the weekend included a bike show, live music at Thresherman’s Park, pork barbecue, bike games, silent auction, steak dinner and camping.

Caya specializes in insurance defense and civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury, both plaintiff and defense. He has handled a variety of lawsuits in both state and federal court arising from automobile accidents, defective products, nursing home neglect, faulty construction practices and wrongful death. Caya has tried numerous cases throughout Wisconsin and several of his cases have resulted in published decisions by the Wisconsin appellate courts. He received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.
