Summer Clerk Opportunities

Nowlan & Mouat LLP offers summer clerkship opportunities to expose first and second-year law students to the "real-world" practice of law. Although emphasis is placed on research and writing skills, our summer clerks also "shadow" business and litigation attorneys as they meet with clients, participate in business negotiation conferences, close transactions, attend depositions and trials, etc. Our goal is for summer clerks to work with all of the Nowlan & Mouat LLP partners at some point during the summer experience so that they may learn about each of our partners' practices and the types of clients each represents.

Summer clerks are paired with a mentor who coordinates work assignments, monitors workflow, and serves as a sounding board for issues, questions and concerns. Work projects are evaluated by the assigning partner.

Over the course of the summer, we want to get to know you and we want you to get to know us. Social outings, both informal and planned, are designed to expose summer clerks to the Janesville community and to our lighter side as attorneys. Our hope is to determine whether a "fit" exists for you with our firm upon your graduation.
